Just across the water from the Mural Cave is the first objective, south of the Merchant’s Hideout (where you can save and re-supply if needed). See the Cave Shrine Map above for Item locations, breakable barrels, Treasures, and more!.There’s a lot to do now besides the main objectives, but we’ll start with what’s closest. There’s also a Request - Egg Hunt, next to the barrel you can break, and a new boat at the dock will let you fully explore all the waterways. On the right is a chest with the Old Wayshrine Key, which will finally allow you to open up all the locked wayshrines spotted in previous areas. Leaving the caves, you’ll come to a dock with a few notable items. Luckily, the next room holds a mural that shows you exactly where to start looking - one can be found further in the caves to the west, and another hides in a small cove to the north of the lake. Your task will be to find both of the heads to unlock the insignia. In the next room, a large shrine holds the Church Insignia in place flanked by two stone hands, and the mural behind it depicts people offering two red bloody heads to the effigy. You can spot one mural on the right as you enter, depicting a beheading as a procession marches onward. Tossing a Flash Grenade at them will instantly vaporize the tentacles and kill them in one hit, so save it for when you run into a small group of them!Īfter defeating the two foes, head past a bloody altar and up some stairs to enter the Mural Caves. Note: There is one sure-fire way to immediately eliminate any of these Ganado with the scythe parasites - they hate bright lights. Being able to stab enemies on the ground can often stop this from happening, so it’s more important than ever to have your knife repaired when able. Either way, be on your guard at all times for any Ganado to manifest these parasites. It’s best to either keep your distance and take the heads out safely with well placed pistol/rifle shots, or block their sweeps and get in close for 1-2 direct shotgun blasts. Another Ganado will soon join the first, and his head will also burst. The good news is that you can parry them with your knife, but they are hard to predict. They’ll slowly stagger your way, often stumbling forward as the scythes either sweep around or slice down from above. Be sure to check around the left side of the boathouse for a barrel, as well as another up a dead end path on the right.Īs you move through the twisting forest path, hang to the left to find a Red Herb, then continue on by ducking through a tunnel to see a gruesome spectacle of this “cult’s” power.Ĭertain Villagers, (aka “The Ganado”), will now have their head erupts when shot and sprout scythe-like tentacles. Outside, an ominous chanting can be heard nearby, which probably isn’t a good thing. You can find a File - Tattered Officer’s Cap in the next room, as well as an item in the cabinet. Sadly, the boat you used to get back sprung a leak, so instead move on and break the barrels in the boathouse as you move into the next room.
